Partnership with Natik

We are thrilled to announce that as of May 2021, Pueblo a Pueblo is formally a partner of Natik Esperanza. Natik supports grassroots organizations in Guatemala and Mexico in the fight against educational and economic inequity.

In 2019, the team in Santiago began looking for a way to both strengthen our internal infrastructure as well as expand our work in the community. With the support of the Pueblo a Pueblo U.S. Board, we reached out to Natik to explore opportunities for collaboration. Already familiar to the Pueblo a Pueblo team as a partner to other organizations in the Santiago community, Natik stood out for its commitment to strengthening the work of local leaders.

In early 2020, with empowering collaboration as a common goal, an exploratory committee was created with members from the boards and teams of both Pueblo a Pueblo and Natik. Over the course of the year, the committee met virtually to strategize how best to support the team in Santiago and maximize the impact of Pueblo a Pueblo programs in the area. We are pleased to report that these discussions culminated in the joint decision to integrate Pueblo a Pueblo as a formal Natik partner in 2021!

We wanted to share this exciting next step for Pueblo a Pueblo with you as we are confident that through collaboration with Natik, we will be able to grow our impact even more. The education, health, and sustainable livelihoods programming that you know and generously support will remain the pillars of our organization. As Pueblo a Pueblo board member Leslie Arathoon said in a recent meeting with Natik, “We are thrilled for this opportunity to give Pueblo a Pueblo programs a chance to grow further and meet their full potential!”

Ultimately, our commitment is to the empowerment of the Santiago Atitlan community, and we are sure that this is an exceptional opportunity for Pueblo a Pueblo to rise to the growing needs of our constituents. We could not have grown into the strong organization that we are today without your unfailing support, and we are excited for you to join us in this new phase of our organization’s development.
