Repair Continues After the Storm
Clean-up continues after the storm that affected Guatemala and caused the evacuation of the community of Panabaj. Many of the families that resided in Panabaj have chosen to move to Chukumuk after the storm. The houses most affected by the storm are those along the main road, which was blocked during tropical storm Agatha due to mud caused by flooding. Running water has not been restored in the community. Community members are tackling the task of clearing the mud from their homes and the roads. Fortunately, the main roads have been cleared enough to allow access to the center of town for those that reside in the furthest neighborhoods.
